Animism, or Thought Currents of Primitive Peoples

Sorry, I find the phrase “primitive peoples” racist and condescending. Indigenous people usually fits much better. To top it off, the cover of the book suggests that men do all the thinking.

Considering that archeologists now say that women invented language, mathematics, astronomy, pottery, basketry, herbalism, and other basics of human culture, that is especially sexist.

Some texts that were revolutionary in their time look pretty narrow-minded in light of archeological discoveries of the last few decades.

Animism: Or, Thought Currents of Primitive Peoples, written by George William Gilmore, is widely considered to be one of the greatest classic and historical texts of all time. This great classic will surely attract a whole new generation of readers. For many, Animism: Or, Thought Currents of Primitive Peoples is required reading for various courses and curriculums. And for others who simply enjoy reading timeless pieces of classic literature, this gem by George William Gilmore is highly recommended. Published by Classic Books International and beautifully produced, Animism: Or, Thought Currents of Primitive Peoples would make an ideal gift and it should be a part of everyone’s personal library.
